What this site is

TexasElectricity.org is a free informational tool. It estimates what retail electricity plans in the deregulated Texas market would cost at the usage you enter, using each plan’s published Electricity Facts Label and public listings from PowerToChoose.org. By using the site, you accept these terms.

Estimates, not offers

Everything on this site is an estimate for information purposes. Results depend on the usage you enter and on published pricing that providers can change at any time. This site is not an offer to sell electricity, and nothing here is financial, legal, or professional advice.

The plan's own documents govern

Your relationship is with the electricity provider you choose, not with us. The provider’s Electricity Facts Label, Terms of Service, and Your Rights as a Customer documents — not this site — govern any plan you enroll in. Always review the provider’s current documents before enrolling. We are not a party to, and have no responsibility for, any transaction between you and a provider.

No affiliation

This site is not affiliated with PowerToChoose.org, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, or any electricity provider.

Accuracy and availability

We work hard to keep pricing accurate — plans are validated against their own advertised rates before they appear — but we cannot guarantee that any information is current, complete, or error-free, or that the site will always be available. The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TexasElectricity.org and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its information, including decisions to enroll in or switch electricity plans. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the site is to stop using it.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the site: no scraping at volumes that burden the service, no attempts to breach or probe its security, no use of the site to mislead others, and no submitting unlawful or abusive content through the contact form.

Intellectual property

The site’s original content, design, and software are ours. Plan data originates from providers’ public filings and PowerToChoose.org; provider names belong to their owners.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms or change or discontinue the site at any time; continued use after changes means acceptance. Updates will be posted on this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
