Direct Energy Bright Bill Credit Classic 12

The best-looking advertised point is 500 kWh, not 1,000. Bright Bill Credit Classic 12 provides $50 in each billing cycle using at least 500 kWh. At 499 kWh there is no credit. Once earned, the same $50 is spread over more electricity as usage rises, while the 15.1796-cent energy charge continues on every kWh. That explains why the advertised average rises from 500 to 2,000 kWh.

Who should take a closer look

A low-use household should compare both sides of the 500-kWh threshold. Our seasonal example never drops below 500, so it earns $600 in annual credits. That favorable qualification assumption does not remove the high underlying energy charge.

A short first or last billing cycle may use less electricity than a normal month. Check how your billing cycle could affect qualification. Solar buyback mentioned in the EFL requires an eligible separate product; this analysis assumes no export income.
